I hope you are doing well. Are you happy? I hope so.
I also hope that you and your family are safe and healthy, especially during the coronavirus crisis. I'm praying for you every day.
It pains my heart so much to know that more than 30,000 people have lost their lives from coronavirus, at this time. Nevertheless, I am very glad to know that more than 150,000 people have recovered.
We must continue to pray for every single person sacrificing their lives for us during this pandemic. We have so many honorable and courageous folks to pray for: our doctors, our nurses, our physician assistants, our public health researchers, our first responders, our insightful journalists, our loved ones taking care of their family members who may have contracted coronavirus, and so many more.
Now, more than ever, we must add salience to the blessings in life that money can not buy--family, wisdom, support, and good health.
During this time, I pray that you stay strong.
Be of good courage and strength to yourself, your friends, and your family. And most importantly, continue to honor and praise our HEAVENLY FATHER through trial, tribulation, and triumph.
So much, it matters to me that your spirit is blessed and influenced positively. With that in mind, I hope you are enjoying the new and enlightening content posted on my main YouTube channel for you. Inserted below, our most recent broadcast shed lavish light on 3 secrets that folks will probably never tell you. I promise, you will be very motivated after watching this one! I had a delightful time recording this teaching for you.
Thank you so much for your persistent support and precious prayers.
You truly are amazing.
Beacons of love and light set the tone for the entire Earth. We carry torches of love and light every day. Remember that.
Stay strong.
In love and light,
Destiny

Self-esteem.
What a blessing it is that you are here in the present—ready and willing to cultivate and secure your self esteem.
But first, your mind must be calm.
And your posture must be comfortable.
Slowly, close your eyes.
You may sit elevated or declined. .
Either way, rest comfortably.
Relax your forehead.
Visualize yourself smiling.
Visualize yourself confident.
Visualize yourself happy.
Attach imagery to your visualization.
Visualize yourself smiling, while trotting along a colorful pathway.
Visualize yourself confident, while creating a delicious dish.
Visualize yourself happy, while singing a joyous song.
Regardless of the imagery that you choose...
Continue to visualize yourself smiling.
Continue to visualize yourself confident.
Continue to visualize yourself happy.
Attach smiles, confidence, and happiness to your self-esteem.
Relax your eyelids.
Envision yourself aware.
Envision yourself intuned.
Envision yourself reflective.
Attach imagery to your visualization.
Envision yourself aware like an eagle—soaring and strategic.
Envision yourself intuned like a tree—gaining nutrients from the soil and the sun.
Envision yourself reflective like the sun—reflecting on earth and the moon.
Regardless of the imagery that you choose...
Continue to envision yourself aware.
Continue to envision yourself intuned.
Continue to envision yourself reflective.
Attach awareness, intuition, and reflection to your self-esteem.
Now visualize yourself weaving your very own self-esteem blanket.
In this blanket, you will weave many threads.
Each thread represents a virtue.
Some threads are necessary.
Other threads are unnecessary.
In your self-esteem blanket, you will weave threads of...
self-respect, self-confidence, and self-love.
Out of your self-esteem blanket, you will unweave threads of...
disrespect, difference, and disdain.
Inhale. Allowing all threads of self-respect to join seamlessly.
Exhale. Allowing all threads of disrespect to detach easily.
Inhale. Allowing all threads of self-confidence to join seamlessly.
Exhale. Allowing all threads of diffidence to detach easily.
Inhale. Allowing all threads of self-love to join seamlessly.
Exhale. Allowing all threads of disdain to detach easily.
Bundle yourself in your self-esteem blanket.
Marvel at your masterpiece.
You have created such an exquisite self-esteem blanket.
Take your self-esteem blanket with you everywhere.
Your self-esteem blanket has many powers.
Power 1: Protection.
Power 2: Patience.
Power 3. Purpose.
Power 1 explained: Your self-esteem blanket protects you from harm.
Power 2 explained: Your self-esteem blanket patiently nurtures your mind, your mood, and your motivation.
Power 3 explained: Your self-esteem blanket purposely enriches your positivity.

On Saturday February 3, 2018, beginning around 6:00 pm today and ending at 10:23 pm, I wrote this reflection in response to a 6-question survey. What began as an intended quick survey response to the survey's 3 open-ended questions during an email-decluttering spree turned into an unintended free write of insightful reflection. In purpose, pray with me for every student struggling to afford an educational degree, pray with me for devoted volunteers in the field of education, and pray with me for the men and women who create and advance the works of academic societies.

I joined NSCS because I had all to gain and nothing to lose. Surprisingly, I never knew the NSCS existed until I received a mailed packet of recognition, congratulations, and membership invitation when I was a soon-to-be college sophomore!
I find the most value through participation with NSCS from giving back to other high-achieving students across the nation by volunteering as a NSCS Alumni scholarship reviewer. As an undergraduate, NSCS scholarships acted as a hand-up, rather than a hand-out during financially-crippling semesters. In positive implication, NSCS scholarships aided in reversing the possible devastation of me becoming forced to drop out of college because of rising tuition costs and depleting financial aid. As a result, I find intrinsic joy and purpose in reviewing scholarship applications for other deserving NSCS students so that they too can become many steps closer to the irrevocably-achieved accomplishment of graduating from college.

What is my 3 word summary of the Silent Parade? Pain. Prejudice. Progression.
In humble honor to my beloved forefathers, I thank you for never allowing pain and prejudice to hinder our progression.
In humble honor to humanity's beloved abolitionists and supporters of peace—regardless of color or class—I thank you for never allowing pain and prejudice to hinder our progression.
In humble honor to all of the above mentioned, I thank you for your silent and spoken action, that embroidered a legacy of liberty and love into the fabric of our society.
In humble honor to the good, glittering generalities of love, light, and learning, I thank GOD perpetually!
And here's a cyber hug 'Thank you!' to Google and the Google Doodle Team for amplifying the 100th anniversary of the Silent Parade in today's doodle! I learned something new today. I learned about a monumental mark, not just in my history—but humanity's history.

]]>Adding light in times of darkness, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was a luminary at best. #MLKDay2017 was Monday, January 16, 2017. But, the commemorating doesn't stop there. This week, I'm honoring Dr. King and his legacy.
7 days.
Let's do this.
To start, we amended the DestinyJackson.org homepage header. We also dedicated my Twitter page header to Dr. King. Continue reading below to see some quotes that I shared on Twitter.

]]>Destiny's After-College Schedule, May 9, 2016. (Official DestinyJackson.org photo)
This week, I'm completing some administrative tasks. Today, I completed exit counseling. Later this week, I will organize all of my papers, exams, and assignments. Right now they are a spaghetti mess! But, by this Friday all should be neat and contained.
I'm also looking forward to picking up my graduation portraits this Sunday—super excited!
Besides that, I'll start planning for law school and planning law school visits over the next couple of weeks. Law school is the next academic chapter in my life. I've been called to lobby for prison and criminal justice reform. I still can't believe the U.S. has the world's highest incarceration rate, with more than 2 million people behind bars. Just as eye-opening, around 5 million children have (or have had) a parent in prison. We can't wait any longer to take committed action.
Shifting gears, I must thank you for your college congratulations that you sent me via social media this week. So special. I filmed a live broadcast on periscope of my graduation day on Saturday, May 7, 2016. That was awesome. Unfortunately though, the link expired after 24 hours and we can't view the broadcast now :(
Nevertheless, we still have the photo memories. Check them out now on my instagram page @DestinyRianaJackson here!

]]>How Psychology Class Strengthened My Appreciation for God's Creations...and Neurologists
On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, I sure was in for a shock! Can you believe I actually dissected a sheep's brain? The moment I realized this is what we were doing in Psychology class, my ethics radar signaled. I questioned: Should I opt out of doing this?
Although, the thought of the dissection definitely caused cognitive dissonance initially, today's lab dissection was truly a memorable learning experience. I prayed on it. In result, the Heavenly Father is assured that my intention is never to harm his creations or creatures in anyway.
A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Proverbs 12:10
My upcoming psychology lab homework entails labeling the following 14 parts of the brain: cerebellum, medulla, pons, fourth ventricle, laterial ventricle, superior colliculus, inferior colliculus, thalamus, hypothalamus, splenium of corpus callosum, corpus callosum, optiac chaism, pituitary, and olfactory bulb.
In more reflection, although God created man to have dominion over animals, that doesn't give man the impetus to mistreat them.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:26
I recognized that the dissection was definitely a learning experience. I gained greater appreciation for the brain and all of its beautiful intricacy. It also reminded me of the important and valuable role of neurologists in our society.

Feast on this.
]]>Julian Bond was a leader who added value to the fabric of our society. And I'm privileged to say that he also was a great mentor and one of my former honors professors.
During my freshman year, Mr. Bond lead the class Oral History of the Civil Rights Movement. Not only was this one of my most intellectually stimulating classes, it was one where Socratic questioning and reasoning was nurtured. Mr. Bond fostered that perfectly. I always admired the way in which Mr. Bond shared stories and added humor. He truly mastered the art of teaching.
I vividly remember meeting with Mr. Bond during office hours where he would share advice at any given moment and answer my questions with enthusiasm.
I also am forever grateful for Mr. Bond's willingness to write a letter of recommendation for me for the White House Internship in 2013.
I send my prayers to his family.
And I thank the Heavenly Father for blessing me with the opportunity to have shared positive memories with one of our country's greatest leaders.
